We are the staffs really enthusiastic about the wonderful cooperation of eGlobal Family organization for supporting and donating the biggest trip for our kids. We do strongly hope that this trip would have left our kids tremendous of experiences in their lives by learning about the society outside of FLO, being in groups or managing groups of people, learning how to love their nature and experiencing with other people. It was an excellent time for them to relax from one year of hard work at state school as well as at FLO, too.
We are really grateful for all of your greatest collaborations with us and we would like to address our sincere thanks to eGlobal Family for making up this journey for our kids. We appreciate your generosity and willingness in supporting our children and giving them chances to be educated.
Computer delivery
With management of Mr. Nuon Phaly, Executive Director of FLO, and Mr. Rick Dyck, the Donor to Ezra Vogel Special Skills School, Mr. Chan Bora, assistant to Ms. Nuon Phaly, brought ten computers, bed materials, and some health care materials for computer class and the children’s hygiene at FLO’s Ratanakirri branch on Saturday 9th July 2011.
Among ten computers, there are computers replaced the computers lost in the last few weeks. The children are very happy to have the computers back because they are very important for them. Computers are very useful tool for our children to catch up with modern world of technology and job market’s technology. Computer was invented by human being and with computer skill human being will certainly have job to do.
As happy as the children of Ezra Vogel Special Skills School, FLO children at Ratanakirri are very hopeful and enthusiastic to have computer class set up for them (to be continued)

Thank letter to donors
Along with the children of The Future Light Orphanage (FLO), we thank the generous people and supporters in Japan who worked so hard to organize one ton of computers, books, clothes, towels, sheets, shoes, and other items delivered to FLO in May 2011.
The organization of the donation took almost one year and involved many kindhearted people to make it happen for the children of the Future Light Orphanage. Your patience, effort, valuable time, and sacrifice put into this work are recognized in our heart and memory and encourage us to work harder for the light of the future of the orphaned and vulnerable children of Cambodia. Your humanitarian act is the greatest model to us and to our children, and encourages us to work hard to help underprivileged, orphaned, and vulnerable children in Cambodia.
The donations are very meaningful and useful for our children to improve their computer skills, have nicer and decent clothes and shoes, and especially to extend knowledge through reading books. Our kids are very happy and enthusiastic to use the greater capacity computers, to have more decent and nicer clothes to put on, and to have more books to read for their knowledge. We strongly believe that we will use the donation effectively and efficiently to educate our children to stay away from ignorance and poverty in their future.

Scholarship Student

Future Light Orphanage resident, Phearun Chhorn has just been accepted for the 2009 Pan Pacific Program at Punahou School. He has also been awarded a Freeman Scholarship which covers his tuition. “I have gotten to know Phearun during my several visits to Future Light Orphanage over the past three years. It has been a pleasure to see him develop into an outstanding young man of good character with wonderful potential,” says Nancy Walden, CCCT 2008 chair.
Phearun’s interests are increasingly reaching beyond his orphanage and Cambodia to the whole world. On his own he listens to the BBC news broadcasts every morning before school and every evening to learn of the world situation and its problems. He is becoming more and more dedicated to an education which will help him make a contribution to improving the human condition. To that end he aspires to study international relations followed by law school. In his application to Punahou he said, “I dream of being a honest politician.” It seems likely he will do that.
The opportunity to attend the Pan Pacific Program will be a major step towards achieving that education and his life goal. He was recently awarded the number one ranking in his school for English at his grade level. Spending 4-5 weeks in Hawaii will certainly enhance his English speaking abilities and further expand his interests in learning more about the people and cultures of other countries – especially in the Pacific area. The Program starts July 18th through August 15th. He will be hosted during his stay in Hawaii by Walden.
The Pan Pacific Program teachers and staff will find Phearun a most enthusiastic contributor and participant in the program, and a young man very grateful to have this opportunity
